Nutrition and Lifestyle

The consultation helps you receive individualised, practical guidance based on your health, daily routine and reproductive plan.

At Adella Clinic, we will not offer you a universal “fertility diet”, extreme restrictions or promises of results.

We will look at your current habits and identify which changes may be meaningful, without turning nutrition into an additional source of stress.

Duration

The duration of the consultation depends on your medical history, goals and the questions that need to be discussed.

Preparation

Bring any available test results and a list of the medicines and nutritional supplements you are taking.

Next Steps

After the consultation, you will receive clear priorities that can be adapted according to your treatment and results.

Individual Guidance Based on Your Everyday Life

What does the consultation involve?

Where do we start?

  • We look at how you currently eat and live.
  • We discuss your health status, treatment plan, work routine and food preferences.
  • We take into account the practical difficulties you experience in everyday life.

What is the aim?

  • To identify which of your current habits are already helping you.
  • To define a small number of realistic changes.
  • To create a plan that does not turn eating into a constant source of guilt and stress.

Practical Support Before and During Treatment

How can the consultation help?

  • 1

    Better organisation around eating

The guidance can help improve the regularity and variety of meals, protein and fibre intake, and the appropriate distribution of carbohydrates.
The plan takes into account your work schedule, budget and the time available for preparing food.
  • 2

    Safer use of supplements

We review the nutritional supplements you are taking, including possible duplication of ingredients or interactions with medicines.
Supplements are recommended only when there is a clear reason and an appropriate dose.
  • 3

    Appropriate movement and recovery

We discuss physical activity, sleep and recovery according to your health and the stage of treatment.
Exercise does not need to be intense or used as a way of compensating for food intake.
  • 4

    Support in certain medical conditions

In cases of insulin resistance, diabetes, PCOS, thyroid disorders or endometriosis, the nutrition plan may complement medical treatment.
Nutrition does not replace medication, diagnostic tests or follow-up with a specialist.
How does the first consultation begin?
We discuss the reason for the consultation, your medical and reproductive history, available test results, medicines and supplements.
If you are about to undergo IVF, ovarian stimulation or embryo transfer, the recommendations are aligned with the specific stage of treatment and the instructions of your treating doctor.
We do not routinely prescribe tests for everyone. Additional tests are discussed only when there is a medical reason.
How do we look at your everyday routine?
We will ask when and how you eat, whether you work shifts, travel, cook at home and which foods you prefer or avoid.
We discuss sleep, physical activity, caffeine, alcohol, smoking and your daily workload.
There is no need to change your habits before the consultation. Understanding your real routine helps us suggest more suitable solutions.

Nutrition That Can Work in Real Life

Together, we identify a small number of clear priorities that can be applied sustainably.

The guidance takes into account cultural and family habits, budget, work and food preferences.

For vegetarian or vegan diets, we assess the intake of key nutrients and whether additional monitoring is needed.

We do not divide foods into “allowed” and “forbidden” categories unless there is a specific medical or safety reason.

Movement, Sleep and Everyday Habits

Physical activity is tailored to your health status, preparation and stage of treatment.

We discuss realistic changes in sleep and recovery, including when you work shifts or are going through a demanding treatment period.

We review caffeine and alcohol intake and provide appropriate guidance when you are planning a pregnancy or are already pregnant.

If you would like to reduce or stop smoking, we can refer you for additional professional support.

Assessment, Practical Recommendations and Follow-Up

How do we create an individual plan?

What do we assess?

  • Your medical and reproductive history.
  • Your diet, sleep and physical activity.
  • The medicines, supplements and nutritional additives you take.
  • Relevant laboratory results related to nutrition.
  • Your work schedule, budget and personal preferences.

What does the plan include?

  • A small number of clear and achievable priorities.
  • Guidance on organising meals during busy days.
  • Appropriate physical activity and recovery.
  • Recommendations aligned with your treatment and test results

Preparation for a Procedure and Adaptation During Pregnancy

How do we adapt the plan to your treatment?

Before a reproductive procedure, we do not recommend extreme diets, prolonged fasting or rapid weight loss as a condition for success.

Preparation may include reviewing supplements, organising meals on procedure days and choosing appropriate physical activity during stimulation.

After a positive pregnancy test, we adapt the recommendations according to the progression of the pregnancy, symptoms, test results and the guidance of your obstetrician-gynaecologist.

We can also discuss nutrition for nausea, constipation, heartburn, changes in appetite or gestational diabetes.

What can nutrition not achieve?

  • There is no specific diet that can guarantee pregnancy or a successful IVF procedure.
  • Nutrition does not treat PCOS, endometriosis, diabetes or thyroid disorders.
  • Supplements do not replace a varied diet or prescribed medical treatment.
  • Changes in body weight do not guarantee pregnancy and do not determine your personal discipline.

When is medical involvement necessary?

  • In cases of abnormal blood glucose levels or suspected thyroid disease.
  • In cases of significant nutritional deficiencies or gastrointestinal symptoms.
  • If an eating disorder is suspected.
  • When a change in medication or an additional medical assessment is required.
