Dr. Petra Makedonova

Dr Petra Macedonova is a specialist in obstetrics, gynaecology and assisted reproduction, with extensive professional experience in reproductive medicine, assisted reproductive treatment, operative gynaecology and reproductive surgery.

She graduated from the Medical University of Sofia and in 2010 obtained her specialist qualification in obstetrics and gynaecology and reproductive medicine at First Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital “St Sofia” (formerly “Tina Kirkova”). Her professional development includes specialised training in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and assisted reproductive techniques in Israel, Italy, Austria and Germany.

Dr Macedonova completed training in transvaginal laparoscopy and surgical techniques in reproductive medicine in Leuven, Belgium. In 2012, she introduced transvaginal laparoscopy in Bulgaria for the first time as a minimally invasive method for the diagnosis and treatment of various gynaecological conditions. A year later, she organised the country’s first international seminar on transvaginal laparoscopy, bringing together leading specialists in the field.

She also completed specialised training in water birth in Denmark and subsequently attended the first water birth in Bulgaria.

Dr Macedonova specialised in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Acacio Fertility Center in Orange County, California, USA. In her practice, she combines in-depth expertise in the treatment of reproductive conditions with an individual approach and careful attention to each patient.
